The files for the Starscan are quite
large. It is recommended that the files be downloaded to your local
computer for faster reading access.
Download times can be lengthy, especially for dial up users. You may want to take a break during the download. Once downloaded to your hard drive, response time will be fast, allowing you to fully enjoy the new Starscan. Connie & David Haviland - Editors |

The second installment of the Starscan Archives is now ready. This installment covers all Starscan issues from January 2001 through December 2003. The Starscan Archives are available for $3.00 each. Contact Ken Lester at ken@riverofstars.net to order a copy. System Requirements. The CD-rom requires a Windows 95 or later personal computer and Adobe's Acrobat Reader. The Acrobat .pdf file format was chosen because Adobe's Acrobat Reader is widely available and is free. A copy of Acrobat Reader is included on the CD-rom if it is not already loaded on your PC. Sorry, a Macintosh version of the Archives is not planned. |
Thank you for your interest in submitting an image or article for publication in the Starscan. Each month, images taken by club members will appear in the Member's Gallery of the Starscan. The images can be from film, CCD, or digital cameras. If you have an interesting picture that is astronomy or club related, send it in. We'd love to include it. Some possible topics for articles are: telescope making, observatory projects, equipment field tests, star party experiences, memorable observing sessions, astronomical discussions, upcoming events, and astronomical or space history and current events. Articles should be astronomical or space related. Regular contributions from SIG chairpersons are highly encouraged. Contact the Editor if you would like to set up a monthly column.
